CENTRAL CITY - Captain D.B. Irby, 89, of Central City, died Sunday, November 27, 2016, at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, IN. Mr. Irby was born September 15, 1927, in Atala, MS. He was an Ohio River Boat Captain, and of the Baptist faith. He was a U.S. army veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Irby.
He is survived by his daughter, Glenda (James) Sneiderman of Debary, FL; step-son Tony (Ramona) Sitz of Conway, Arkansas; grandchild Gayden Peel; great-grandchild Liam Peel; step-grandchildren Robie and Teddy Sitz; and step-great-grandchildren Molly and Alex Sitz.
Funeral services will be Thursday, December 1, 2016, at 12:00 noon at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Tim Adcock officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday after 10:00AM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
